SCHOOL FEES & SUPPLIES

School fee invoices will be sent out shortly after the start of the new school year.

SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES

Assemblies are held during the first full week of every month at 9:00 a.m.
Parents are welcome to attend.

ABSENTEEISM

If a student is ill or will be away from school for any reason, we ask that parents please inform the officewith a phone call. Calls between 8:30 & 9:00 a.m. would be appreciated or a message can be left on voice mail prior to this time.
If a student is going to be absent for an extended period of time, parents are asked to send a note with their child prior to this leave
If unexplained absences occur, teachers may ask that parents are
contacted for an explanation.

ACCIDENTS OR SICKNESS

Should a child have an accident at school or be sick during school hours, we shall always try to contact the parents or guardian, first at home then at work. We encourage parents to supply us with a contact name and phone number in case of an emergency.

If it is impossible to make personal contact, the school will try to make appropriate arrangements for the medical situation.

Teachers will not give students medicine of any kind without written consent from a parent or doctor.

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS

We have two lost and found boxes in the school, one located in the
primary wing and one in the upper elementary wing. When in doubt over lost items, please come in and check them out.

HEAD LICE

We do attempt to keep our school and our students free of head lice and to maintain a ‘no nits’ policy.   A permission letter is sent home with the school registration form every year allowing our ‘louse busters’
volunteers to do school wide head checks through out the year to monitor for potential problems. If you DO NOT want your child checked please mark NO on this form.

Should it be determined that a student has head lice:
a)   If nits are found, students will remain at school until the end of the day, a letter will go home and parents will be
called advising them of the situation. If lice are found, parents will be called and asked to pick up their child for
      treatment.
b)  The infested student(s) will have to have a special head lice shampoo treatment and have their heads monitored
and clear of all lice and eggs (nits) before returning to school.
c)  All parents will be asked to monitor their child’s/ren’s head for the next few weeks.

We issue a newsletter from our school at the beginning of every month in an attempt to inform all parents of activities, programs and special events going on in our school throughout the year.
*Reminder: Please remember to update and/or change your school calendar with the information from your newsletters.

KENNEDY PARENT COUNCIL (PAC)

We have an active Parent Council that meets on the second Monday of each month (watch the school calendar for alternate days). If you are interested in attending a meeting, please call the office to gain more information regarding the dates of these meetings. Minutes of each meeting are included in our monthly newsletter.
